Party by the Book

Lastnight Rick went to a theme "50's Noir" book signing party. Our friend Kasey (shown at the end) had just completed his 4th novel. So he invited some friends to celebrate with him and his fiancé Mimi (curly dirty blonde). Rick took about an hour and half to get into charecter. I'm not really in to the mustach, I think it looks kinna creeply. Let's hope he's not going to keep it (help me). However the party looks fun enough. I missed out, seeing everyone again. Our friend, Tylor is here from LA. She is looking pretty tight squeezed with Gabe. Wacthout Taylor he's trouble. My friend Corey is also there. Corey your outfit doesn't look 50's Noir? Nice try. Why didn't anyone else dress up? Today I will go and hangout with Taylor, Gabe and maybe Corey too. That should be fun. Poor Taylor is supposed to cut everyone's hair. That's a problem of being a stylist in LA., when you come and visit all your friend wants you to do the deed.

Back in Time

It's tough trying to find ways to remain possitive and clam during these aganizing time. This helps though. I was looking through some photos from Christmas 2 years ago. It was great times for all of us. Everyone were together including my family. So it was especially happy times for me. I also thought for some of you who hasn't seen the photos, it might be fun to see what we were up to, while visiting Lin, Steve and Kate in Bath, during the holidays time. Lots of drinks and food and a good laugh all the way round. We were all wiped by the end of the trip especially for Mum, dad, Ron, Amy, Rick and Lisa who hopped over to paris for a few nights during christmas and new year.

He puts a Smile on my Face

I'm so glad to say that Rick is finally painting again. We went out and got him some canvas and supplies the other day. It's so hard for him to find the time between work and me it's pretty tough. I hope he will keep it up, it makes him so happy.

Feeling Creative #I

I saw a brilliant movie last night, Vanity Fair, has anyone seen it? Brilliant in terms of colors, shapes and texture. The story was typical period piece. The costume design was absolutely fabulous. I just loved it. I was especially impressed with the director's usage of colors and texture. Of course, first thing I wanted to do this morning (besides eating something) was to do something creative. Since I have been wanting to make a necklace for ages, why not today? This might be a good opportunity to get it out of my system. After a few trips to the shop, cutting up swatches, knitting, making pom-poms, sewing and hopping next door for some constructive criticism, this is what I ended up with. Obviously it's still a work in progress! I'm not sure how it's going to turn out, but we shall see. Can you even see what it is?

Crack the Whip!

Finally Rick is put to work. Since this morning he's been puting up shelf, mirror, hook, magazine rack and had put together 2 filling cabinets. As I sat there sucking on an ice lolli, thinking um should I feel guilty? Na! I don't think so. He's not just a pretty face, he's good for something. Here are a few moments to share.

Snip Snip

I don't know how we managed to become a neighborhood Barber. Usually it's me cutting and Rick is directing using references from his latest fashion magazine. Since I can't stand up for long, Rick took charge. I'm on the other hand had the pleasure of doing back seat barbering. It was fun and rather confusing for Rick. We also had Will's parents (Lynn and Jud who live next door) doing a bit of directing as well. So it turned out ok, I think it's too short. As I told Will, it will be perfect in a couple of weeks.

Three Cheers for Lance!

Today when I heard that Lance Armstrong had won Le Tour de France, his 7th in a row; I was so happy! Like many people, he has inspired and touched my life in so many ways. His strength give me so much hope and possitive energy. Havs anyone read his book? I started on it and had to put it down as it got too closed to home for me. I still really want to finish it, but I don't think I'm quite ready just yet (maybe after chemo).

Our good friend Ean, sent me the book the other day. I was so touched to see that he had went out of his way to get Lance to signed it for me. We are so blessed with so many nice and generous friends.

Rick ran the Nike organized "Run hit Wonders" this morning. I missed doing it with him. I think we will make it a tradition to do it every year from now (if we are around). I like the non-competitive factor of it and it's fun to stop and listen to all the bands. He ran in to some friends of our from Palm Spring. Who came up here to do the walk this year, Skip, Joy and Mike. I wish I could have been there to see them.

Pimp My Ride

Check out my new ride. We went to Ikea on Saturday and got myself a big old electric wheel chair. I whilst about rather comfortably. People were extra nice when their see you in a wheel chair, umm! I like that. That was my big outing. Since I have been house bound all week, it was nice to finally get out. That is pretty sad, oh I can't wait to be able to walk again.

Itch Attacks

It has been an interesting few days, trying to get used to new side effects. The tingling and itchiness has taken over. Finally decided to call the doctor and told her that it's not normal. She suggests that I should go on a new drug next time, that ought to do it. In the meantime, my feets and hands hit the bucket (with ice pack) more frequent that I would have like. :p

I felt like a milkshake yesterday, so we headed to Dug Fur (NE Portland/Standard Hotel L.A. want to be) to satisfied my crave. It was alirght, however feel really ill after stuffing it all down in less than a few mintues, Naturally.

Rick and his friend Gabe (shown in pic) crashing after a some what dissapointing surf trip to the coast earlier in the day. They are hinting of going again Sunday! Unbelievable.

Quack Quack

Our friend Gabe show up the other day with the Duck's helmet. Rick went mad, he loves it. Let's hope they will have a better team this year so that we can actually enjoy the glory of wacthing them win sometimes! Oops did I said that out loud.

R.L.R

Here they are, all grown up. Thought this might be good for you guys to see. Thanks Mum and Dad for the pictures.

Goodbye for Now

Mum and Dad sent me this picture from their visit. We all got up early and went for breakfast. Unfortunately Dad is taking the picture so we can't see him. He looks great. "Dad all the golf you've been playing is finally paying off, with the tan and the muscle, you look like a new man"

I'm Hooked

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with my blog lately. Since I bought the new Harry Potter book I can't seem to put it down. Rick is getting a little annoyed with me that I don't pay too much attention to anything but the book lately. I'm so hooked. However I have been putting up some older photos from our trip to Bangkok last year. I thought it might be fun for people to see and make comments on. Sorry got to dash again; I think I hear Harry, Ron and Hermoine calling for help! I know it's chessie, but I couldn't resist.

Keep on moving

I'm feeling pretty good today. Just had a visit with Mum and Dad, who came and spent the week-end with us. It's my week-off chemo and I'm trying my best to get use to this new drug. Apart from not have much enery, and dealing with itch attacks from time to time. My life with this new drugs is not so bad. I tried to keep myself pre-occupied with planning for life after chemo. So excited. I had decided that I'm going to do a triathelon next year. Some how, trying to convince others to do it with me hasn't been that easy. Hey I'm scare of the water too you know!

We also planned a trip to Mexico in Aug, to celebrate Life. My last chemo will be on Aug. 9th, and our trip is from Aug.13/18. The trip should be a really good break for Rick too. He's been amazingly patient with everything. I'm on the other hand has been experiencing personality changed such as, moodyness, extream bossiness, selfishness, just to name a few. I am hoping not to adopt these personalities after my treaments, for Rick's sake.

Rick is trainning to do a run hit wonder again this year. So happy! I admire others who can do outdoor activities, since I am unable to enjoy it at the moment. I will have to sit and wait in a cafe while Rick and his friend Aaron do the 10k, which will be coming up in 2 weeks. Hopefully our friends Taylor, Matt and his grilfriend Brandy will be able to visit us that week end.

I going to attempt on a solo outting today. A visit to a book store would be nice. I might as well join the craz, "the new Harry Potter is here".

Love is in the air

Rick and I fell in love again! It's official. Not with each other, but to our little cousin's daughter, the beautiful Angela. I can't even begin to describe how happy she makes us feel. Eventhough I barely have the energy to keep up with her, I had managed to picked her up, and chased her around the garden. I almost passed out by the time I was done with her. Grandma is right, she's addictive, she my new drug. I miss her already. Too bad we live so far from her. Oh Angie!

It was so nice to spend time with Melissa (Rick's cousin) and her husband Matt. What a nice couple. I wish we all live closer so that we can hang out more. Aunt Patty was also there with Grandma and Grandpa. It was a full house, but we all enjoyed each other's company. We did our usual, parade in the heat, eat lots of good food, playing fun games, meeting up with friends, and just hanging out with the fam. No wonder I had a fever when I got home, but it was well worth it.
